Itinerary
Arrive at 08:45 hrs via QR-664. Meet your Heritage Expediciones representative and transfer to Negombo (20-minute drive). Check into Suriya Arana for leisure and overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive to Giritale (4 hours). En route, climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress, famous for its frescoes and water gardens. Check into Deer Park Hotel for an overnight stay.
Breakfast at 08:30 hrs, then visit Polonnaruwa’s ancient ruins and parks from King Parakramabahu I’s era. Afternoon safari at Kaudulla or Minneriya National Park to see elephant herds. Overnight at Deer Park Hotel.
After breakfast, drive to Kandy (4 hours). En route, explore Dambulla Rock Cave Temple and Nalanda Gedige. Check into Kirinda Walauwa for an overnight stay.
Enjoy a village walk (4 km, 30-45 minutes) after bed tea at 06:00 hrs, followed by breakfast. Visit Gampola market by tuk-tuk, participate in a cookery demonstration, and bathe at a spring water well. Evening temple visit and BBQ dinner at Kirinda Walauwa. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, transfer to Nanu-Oya Railway Station for a 12:50 hrs train to Ella (arrive 15:30 hrs), offering scenic tea plantation views. Check into Serenite Cottages for an overnight stay.
- Post-breakfast, trek to the Nine Arches Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak with a picnic lunch. Return to Serenite Cottages for leisure and overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive to Tissamaharama (2 hours). En route, visit Kataragama Temple. Afternoon jeep safari at Yala National Park to spot leopards and elephants. Overnight at Kithala Resort.
Breakfast, then drive to Sinharaja (4 hours). En route, visit Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home at 10:30 hrs for baby elephant feeding. Check into Blue Magpie Lodge for an overnight stay.
Breakfast, then trek in Sinharaja Rain Forest to see its giant canopy trees and endemic birds. Return to Blue Magpie Lodge for leisure and overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive to Tangalle (3 hours). Check into Turtle Bay Resort for leisure and overnight stay.
Full day at leisure to enjoy Tangalle’s beaches and lagoons. Overnight at Turtle Bay Resort.
Breakfast at 08:30 hrs, then drive to Colombo (3 hours). Enjoy a city tour by tuk-tuk, including Pettah Bazaar. Overnight at Granbell Hotel.
Depart at 00:30 hrs with breakfast packets for QR-663 at 04:25 hrs. Travel via E03 expressway (report 3 hours prior). End of tour.
